Rosie O’Donnell: “Women Should Form Own Party” If Democrats Support Pro-Life Candidates

Once again, high-profile Democrats demonstrate how and why they’re so out of touch with the heart and soul of America.

As you may have heard, there is more than a bit of infighting taking place inside the party these days when it comes to the matter of supporting pro-life Democratic candidates.

Not long ago, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez declared that all Democratic Party candidates everywhere should be pro-choice, saying, “Every Democrat, like every American, should support a woman’s right to make her own choices about her body and her health. That is not negotiable and should not change city by city or state by state.”

Perez has been hearing it from other Dems on the subject who in no way agree with his position. Just this past Monday, Ben Ray Luján, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said, “There is not a litmus test for Democratic candidates. As we look at candidates across the country, you need to make sure you have candidates that fit the district, that can win in these districts across America.”

And actress Rosie O’Donnell’s response to Monday’s announcement by Luján? A tweet, noted by The Daily Caller, that referred to Luján’s statement and read, “WOMAN SHOULD FORM OUR OWN PARTY IF DEMS DO THIS.”

Perhaps before tweeting, O’Donnell should have paid some heed to a June Gallup Poll that found 49 percent of women believe abortion to be morally wrong, even as some of those believe it should remain legal.

In other words, if O’Donnell thinks she speaks for all women on the matter of abortion, or that all women are in lockstep on supporting so-called pro-choice positions, she’s clearly not paying attention.
