When It Comes to Threats on the Street, Staying Ready Cannot Be a Function of Age

We have been hearing more and more lately from law enforcement officials who are boldly saying that the ability of police agencies to react “in the moment” and keep citizens safe from threats unfolding in real time is greatly diminished. One of the additionally-ominous inferences we are forced to take from these declarations is that those who are devoted to committing these violent acts against the rest of us are not going to care how vulnerable some among us are. As a matter of fact, criminals and terrorists typically prefer to go after those who they believe are least able to defend themselves. This certainly includes those members of the population that are getting on in years.

Many of us, however, aren’t having it. Those of you who know me…and know about me…are aware that I have made fitness and self-defense training a part of my life for decades. Now in my early-fifties, I still train aggressively just about every day, and expect to do so until I die. A big part of my training involves the use of the heavy bag. I love training the heavy bag, because it is one of the few pieces of apparatus available that allow one to simultaneously train for both fitness and self-defense, and do so without requiring a training partner to be available.

Take a look at this short video that shows a 60-plus-year-old man training the heavy bag:

It is not a professionally-crafted video, nor is the guy demonstrating the very best technique (although it is certainly not bad). That, however, is not important. By getting in there on a regular basis and striking as hard as he can, not only is he helping to keep himself in great shape, but he is also helping to stay prepared should trouble suddenly befall him on the street.

On that note, I want to mention a great training information product called The Heavy Bag Blueprint. The Heavy Bag Blueprint represents basically the “A to Z” of heavy bag training; it is structured into four training modules that present the person looking for both serious fitness training and a heightened ability to execute powerful strikes…with a comprehensive set of instructional guideposts. The content is substantial, with each module packed with all of the training you would expect to find in a quality, video-based fitness/self-defense program.

The Heavy Bag Blueprint comes with several bonuses, as well, that deal with subjects like diet, cutting weight, warrior mindset, applying specialized techniques to enhancing striking speed and power, and more. One other thing – The Heavy Bag Blueprint carries with it a 60-day, money-back guarantee, so if you decide anytime within the first two months of purchase that you’re not satisfied with the product, you can get your money back.

If you and/or someone you love is looking to “toughen up” in order to be better prepared to face the threats posed by what is now a most uncertain world, then I would certainly suggest giving The Heavy Bag Blueprint a good look.

Before beginning any exercise routine, you should seek the advice of a physician.
