This year I consider the smartest holiday purchase to be a smart TV. There is an exception to this, however, and this is where the smart TV idea comes in. So called smart TVs have the ability to connect to the Internet directly (providing access to a wide variety of third party viewing options -without cable TV). So, if you are in the market for a new television, you might as well buy one with this technology already built in. The reality is that if you drop cable, the TV will pay for itself in probably just two or three months.
