I was fascinated last week to learn about a service that will negotiate better deals for you on everything from cable TV to your health club membership dues. BillCutterz will make the phone calls and work out better deals for you and they only get paid if they save you money.

The company's website provides a list of the kinds of bills that that they will negotiate for you, which includes

1. Cell phone service

2. Electricity & gas

3. Alarm & security

4. Internet

5. Landline telephone

6. Trash service

7. Cable & satellite TV

8. Gym memberships.

How do they get paid?

You agree to pay them 50% of the amount of savings they work out for you for a period of one year. After the first year, the savings are yours to enjoy without any further obligation to BillCutterz. If in the interim your bills go back up, your fee is reduced accordingly. 

Of course, if you are a regular reader of this blog you know that there are few things that I am more passionate about than finding ways to save money. Shopping things out and asking for discounts are both a regular mantra of my blog posts. Unfortunately, most people don't really follow up and do this. Why? Well, I have heard a range of excuses from being too busy to outright fear of making such a call. Now there is no excuse when you can turn this all over to a third party to do it for you. I would also guess that people that do this all day know what to say and how to say it to get the biggest discounts.

Can this service also help your business or church to save money?

I was very excited when I discovered that the service can also be used for businesses, non-profits, and even churches. This should be a slam-dunk for business owners and churches alike. I just absolutely love the value proposition here - pay only a percentage of what they save you. What could be more fair?

Are there other companies out there doing this?
