Get Paid For Taking Pictures With Your Smartphone
One theme of much of my teaching on Internet business over the years is the opportunity to cash in on the sale of intellectual property (IP). Well, the term IP can apply to a wide swath of intangible assets, such as eBooks, websites, blog content, and music. Today, however, we are going to explore how to make money with photos.
A huge opportunity today is that of photo licensing. With an iPhone or other smartphone you are carrying around an amazing tool of high technology, but also one that can make money for you. I am always on the lookout for an interesting picture that I can share online. I love seeing a unique setting and pulling out my phone and capturing it. In fact, I recently attended a wedding of a relative in California and there were dozens of people there taking pictures. There were also two paid photographers as well. On my Android phone I took the one picture that was universally considered to be the 'picture of the day.' You can imagine my excitement when I recently learned that there is now an easy way to earn money from the pictures I have on my smartphone.
Foap provides the opportunity to sell your smartphone pics through their network and will share the profits with you 50/50. Foap sells your pictures for $10 and pays you $5 each time one sells. The great thing is that your picture can be sold an unlimited number of times. This means that as you build your own portolio of photos you are creating a lifelong income stream! Here is a link to my own Foap portfolio that I just started yesterday.
This is a picture I took with my Android phone on a recent trip to San Francisco.
Now I can earn an income from it for the rest of my life with Foap.
How to get started with Foap
To get started, search your app store for 'Foap.' There is currently an iPhone and Android app available. Through the app you will be able to set up an account in a couple of minutes. Once your account is set up, you can link it to PayPal (which is how you will receive your payments). Your money builds up until you decide to cash out. Cash out by the 15th and you will receive your PayPal payment by the 30th of that month.

After your account is set up with Foap, you can start uploading pictures to your portfolio. They have an ingenious system of curating their photo collection. How it works is that a picture must achieve a rating of 2.5 or better (on a scale of 1 to 5) to be accepted. Each time you upload a new picture, you also agree to rate five pictures of other users (this is how they keep the review process going). I did pretty well as about 90% of my pictures made the cut.

that pay out even larger bonuses
Conclusion
The pictures that I uploaded to Foap were taken before I knew about this opportunity. Now that I know that unique pictures can easily be sold in this way, I will be on the lookout for opportunities to cash in. My 19 year old daughter is amazingly talented at catching great photos on her iPhone. She heard me discussing this opportunity with my wife yesterday and already has her own Foap portfolio going.
