Stunning – CNN Asks “Where Are Obamas on Weinstein Scandal?”

And, once again, the left is eating its own.

It often happens when someone on the left does something perceived as so egregious – and so much in violation of another principle seen as near and dear to progressives – that the cannibalization simply cannot be avoided.

Such is the case in the matter of Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood power player who apparently used – like pieces of gym equipment – countless numbers of young ladies who came to Tinseltown in search of fulfilling their dreams of stardom.

As noted by The Daily Caller, one decidedly leftist news network, CNN, simply could not hold back when it came to the matter of Weinstein, a long-time supporter of many Democrat causes. Here’s political correspondent Dana Bash on the Tuesday edition of CNN’s Wolf:

“The other question is where are the Obamas? Where is Michelle Obama? Where is President Obama? He is and probably still is a big supporter of him and his political efforts. And just let’s just pretend the shoe was on the other foot and this was a Republican, somebody who is in Hollywood who is a Republican alleged to have done these things and gave to Republican presidents. Can you imagine the outrage if they weren’t condemning this behavior? I mean, it makes no sense at all that they are not coming out and saying something. Never mind the question of the donations.”

Wow.

The Obamas subsequently issued the standard “shocked, horrified, condemn” statement, but it’s worth noting that it seemed to come only after there was very public questioning as to where their comment on Weinstein was. Also, no word as to whether the Obamas will take any steps to give back or otherwise cleanse themselves of money donated over the years to President Obama’s campaign and campaign-related entities.
