Seasonal Job Openings - Who's Hiring

Every year does an article on seasonal job openings. We have found that many of our readers have a great deal of interest in seasonal positions. First, everyone needs extra money around the holidays. Secondly, those that work in retail enjoy employee discounts at just the perfect time for the gift giving season. Lastly, many of these seasonal jobs can become regular ongoing part time or even full time jobs. We have also expanded our coverage to include work from home seasonal jobs.

Our local Target has the above flyers displayed at each checkout lane and even a special table set up near the entrance to recruit seasonal workers. The store here in Palm Coast Florida is hiring 60 seasonal employees at $11 per hour. While no regular benefits would apply, and these are only part time jobs, seasonal workers enjoy a 10 percent discount on store purchases.

Check The National Job Boards

The big national job boards also have listings for seasonal work (both on site and at home).  I would include in your search,, and

Beware Of Scams

There is absolutely no good reason to pay for a list of available jobs or pay a service to locate a seasonal job for you.  The jobs are there and you don't need a middle man to land one.  If you work through a legitimate employment agency, their fee will be paid by the company hiring you.

Don't limit your job search to the above list or even just to big name companies. There are so many locally owned businesses that need extra help during the holidays. Of course, restaurants and retail are pretty obvious. There are less obvious opportunities, such as working in an office. Financial planners and insurance agents get very busy as the end of the year approaches. Not only are there holiday greeting cards to be addressed and holiday events, many times end of year tax statements must go out, and outbound holiday greeting calls are on the agenda. The point here is that you should not limit your list to only the big national names. Even a simple post on your Facebook page letting your friends know that you are interested in seasonal work can yield several offers.
