If Sanders supporters and ardent progressives, more generally, had doubts about just how seriously their interests were viewed, let alone shared, by Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic Party presidential nominee’s selection of Tim Kaine as ticket-mate answered those doubts with a resounding, “not much at all.” Kaine, a fan of more deregulation of Wall Street and someone who’s in favor of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, is by no means reflective of the progressive values that are clearly a priority of many Democrats today, given Bernie Sanders’ strong performance against Clinton in head-to-head matchups throughout the primary and caucus season. From the... Read more →

While some people may say that there are too many airfare search platforms today, I could not disagree more. What is important to grasp, however, is that each one of these portals has a little something different to offer. While there is some benefit to simply doing the same itinerary search on multiple airfare search engines, the results are magnified when you take advantage of the unique tools available at each site. My article 5 Hacks For Finding The Lowest Airfare Every Time is still one of the most popular articles on this blog. Today I am going to share... Read more →

Yup, it does get even dumber. The left-wing narrative, that is. On Thursday night, during MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican National Convention, Chris Matthews, who once famously said that Obama gave him a “thrill up his leg,” declared that the phrase “law and order” has “a racial tone to it.” Trump has repeatedly said throughout the campaign that he will restore “law and order” to the nation, and emphasized that point again in his address to the convention on Thursday. Matthews, however, clearly does not like the term, and sees it as just one more racial “dog whistle.” As Matthews... Read more →

In case you missed it, Dr. Ben Carson gave quite a speech on Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention, one in which he made a rather big deal about Hillary Clinton hero Saul Alinsky’s alleged affection for none other than Satan. Alinsky is generally thought to be the original American leftist community organizer. He is particularly well-known for his book Rules for Radicals, published in 1971, just a year before his death of a heart attack at age 63. Rules for Radicals is essentially a handbook for community organizing within perceived disenfranchised communities across the United States, and Alinsky... Read more →

Our pals at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) just keep at it. The latest tidbit of information regarding their nefarious behavior has to do with misdeeds of a sexual nature; what a shock. It seems that a TSA agent in the Seattle, WA area was arrested after being witnessed in the baggage claim area of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport using the video camera feature of his cell phone to engage in so-called “upskirt” voyeurism. The agent in question became subject to monitoring by a TSA special agent and Port of Seattle Police after suspicions about the offending agent’s behavior were brought... Read more →

Recently, an American think tank, the Social Progress Initiative, declared Finland to be the most socially progressive country in the world. Knowing that common sense exists in inverse proportion to social progression, Finland must be the most socially progressive nation, based on this one news item. A 35-year-old resident of Hyvinkaa, a town that sits just a relative handful of miles north of Helsinki, is going to prison for four years and will pay a $23,000 fine because the court determined that when he was attacked in his residence by three home invaders, he was too aggressive in the manner... Detective Steve Loomis, head of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association, has come out swinging against President Obama and the media over what he sees as their culpability in the rash of attacks on police all over the country. Loomis pointedly accused the president of validating “a false narrative” in the form of messages that declare police are essentially executing unarmed black men. Appearing on Fox News, Loomis said, in part: “The president of the United States validated a false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter and the media are pressing out there to the public — he validated... In the wake (midst?) of a slew of horrific attacks against police officers around the country, an Ohio sheriff is asking his civilian employees and agency volunteers to start packing while at work, as well as while driving any department vehicles. Richard Jones, the Sheriff of Butler County, Ohio, has issued a memo to all of his staff asking that they use “extra caution” at the present time while anti-police tensions are running so high, and that being armed is a key component of that “extra caution.” According to television station WLWT, Jones’ memo “urged employees to plan their attire... Jonathan Miller, a liberal British expatriate who is now an elected city councilor in southern France, is sounding the alarm that, after a spate of vicious terror attacks that have rocked that country in recent years, many citizens are now preparing for what they see as the only solution to the root causes of all that has plagued the country for too long now: civil war In a commentary that appears over at CNBC, Miller suggests that the Nice truck attack may prove to be the straw that breaks the collective back of the French people. While Miller’s claim that... Read more →

In a video posted to YouTube by conservative political commentator and author Dinesh D’Souza, Hillary Clinton can be seen and heard at a forum on gun violence in Connecticut saying that “joining a gang is like having a family.” Clinton continued, “It’s feeling like you are a part of something bigger than yourself. So we’re either going to have gangs that murder and rob and do the things that are so destructive to their members and to the community, or we’re going to have positive gangs, we’re going to have positive alternatives for young people.” Positive gangs. What Clinton is... Read more →

A Playboy Playmate is taking a beating on social media after doing something that reminds many of why they couldn’t stand the “beautiful people” during high school. Dani Mathers, the 2015 Playmate of the Year, posted to her Instagram account a nude photo of a woman she took while in the locker room of an LA Fitness gym, with the caption, “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either.” Nice. Maybe even worse than what she did was the lame apology she offered up in the wake of the ensuing firestorm. Using her Snapchat account as the vehicle, Mathers... Read more →

Republican MP Jacques Myard, the député for Maisons-Laffitte in northern Paris, apparently did not receive the memo about not speaking ill of Muslims in his nation; the French politician is making news by way of his declaration that it will take nothing short of “radical measures” to prevent future terror attacks in his country. Myard also said that the nation’s ban on the wearing of the burka in public should be broadened so that it becomes illegal to wear it on private property, as well Myard went further still, suggesting that his government should deport all those who follow Sharia... While many of us are inclined to see the nationwide social tensions currently plaguing the country as something new in America, for those of us old enough to remember, much of what is unfolding before our eyes…both in person and on the television news…is very reminiscent of what took place across these same United States during the late 1960’s. Whether by design or happenstance, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump invoked at least a bit of the memory of those days when he said on Monday that the unspeakable violence to which the country bore witness last week “might be... Even though a war against corruption and Wall Street influence resided at much of the core of Bernie Sanders adversarial posture during his campaign against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination, her clever and privileged ways, in the end, did not stop him from formally endorsing her, something he did on Tuesday at a rally in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Said Sanders, “This campaign is not really about Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders. This campaign is about the needs of the American people and addressing the very serious crises that we face. And there is no doubt... Read more →

While police are still sorting out the details, it appears that an online disagreement between an off-duty St. Louis County, MO police officer and a young area man escalated in the worst way this past Saturday evening, with 20-year-old Tyler Gebhard shot and killed after he reportedly attempted to break into the officer’s home. Gebhard was shot twice by the officer after throwing a 100-plus pound concrete planter through the backdoor windows of the home and making entrance. The officer’s wife and two young children, along with his mother-in-law, were also at the residence, and hid in a back room... Read more →
